Going to Boston This Year?
Sometimes I fall off the face of the earth.
But now that I've scrambled back, and gotten through most of my e-mail, here's a reminder that the price for the Nieman conference will rise from its astronomical price of $350 to the even higher $375 after October 20. The conference hotel is another $169 a night on the special rate (also about to fill up or expire). All I can think is that with more newspapers interested in narrative, more companies are picking up the tab. However, the speakers are fabu, with more minorities represented than ever before, I think.
I will not be along this year. I am broke, broke, broke. But it's a great conference to be inspired, and I could use some of that, so I might spring for some tapes of sessions.
