When Are You a Writer?

If you write, you're a writer.

Lots of people keep wondering when they're going to be a "real" writer. When they'll know they've arrived at that sacred place and deserve the title.

Don't hold your breath.

Look, most writers feel like frauds at some point -- I've heard umpteen big-name writers talk about worrying that this next piece they're working on will reveal they're just pretending.
